Theres a couple other Mystery-focused solo systems you can use. One is in the Motif system, which I think you can get for free, and the I think I heard there's a mythic one in 2e or one of the mythic zines (which is maybe what you're using). Played blade runner, I would roll to see if they found a clue at the scene, roll randomly for the Clue, and then have to connect it with previous clues. Its fun but not easy!

I picked up the horror tracker from Mythic which I’ve tried out and really liked. I think I’ll be using that as a default when I play call of Cthulu! I haven’t heard of Motif, but I should check that one out! Sometimes I can navigate it with Yes/No questions or back work it with an Action+Theme prompt, but it’s nice to have something more specific to to do a bit of the brain lifting haha

In motif, you gain Clue points as you go, and eventually test to see if you've discovered the answer or not. Something like that

Oh that’s cool! It might be nice to have mechanic tied to the actual solving instead of just winging it haha

Amazing insights, Solum! Please keep writing these, I'm a sucker for behind the scenes stuff.

Like Write Firster said, there's a couple Mythic Magazines that might help you. Volume 6 has "Creating Mystery Adventures" and volume 47 has "One Page Mystery Crafter".

Oh cool! I don’t think I have those, I have a few of the tracks and a horror specific one that I’ve been experimenting with but some Mystery one would be great!

I have a few other Post Scripts for Kat’s previous adventures if you want to to check those out, I like to do a retrospective each mission, especially while I’m learning or using new tools!
