What is Solum Protocol?

Solum Protocol is my attempt to document my ongoing obsession with playing TTRPG’s Solo, using a whatever tool, Oracle or Random table I can get my hands on. I’ve played a handful of games, some of them designed for Solo, like Ironsworn and Stoneburner, but mostly I play RPGs that are intended for group play using a GM emulator. My current obsession is a game called Delta Green, a system set in the modern day with a focus on Cosmic Horror, Conspiracies and the fragility of the human psyche. While fantasy is my usual bread and butter, my solo games often descend into Lovecraftian horror, so this is just me skipping the middle man.

I have accumulated a lot of different systems over the years, and I plan to share my adventures for those here as well, but for now I will predominantly be telling the story of an FBI agent in 2005, and her steady decline into madness. I hope you join me for the ride!

Why am I here?

I currently have no intention of charging for this Substack. I was already 100k words into Kat’s journey when I decided to try posting it online, and I’ll continue writing even if no one ever reads it. All of my writing and solo play is done with me and my random tables, and AI is not used at any stage of the writing, playing or editing process. With that being said, If you are reading this, and have read any of the sessions/chapters that I have written, I would love to hear from you! I’ve been writing on and off for most of my life, and I’ve always been eager to get better. Tell me what you like, what you don’t like or what you think I could do better! My DM’s and comment section are always open! (Although I have a child and a full time job, so response time may vary.)
